Back to My Roots

Test to show I can control fog

Test to show I can control fog

I’m home in Brownsville PA visiting with my parents- back in the Pittsburgh area that serves as the inspiration for many of my projects. I went to an auction with Mom, Dad, and “Uncle Wib” where I got to take a peek at my roots. I also was obligated to slow down a bit to match the easy pace of retirees.
I enjoyed the change of pace- but I’m not sure I could make it a habit. As I experienced the evening in slow motion (contrasted only by the auctioneer’s lightning quick banter), I observed, I conversed with friendly strangers, and I was surprised how much they already knew about me.
I am thankful that I still have them both, and that my two brothers and our respective families will be together with them later this week.

I bought a portable refrigerator that runs off a car’s cigarette lighter for $20. I planned on using it to cool down the “fog” in the back glass of my next project.

It doesn’t work.

It was worth it anyway.

At the Beginning of Every Game, the Score is Tied

I choose to think of this as a pinkish sunrise, even though I know it is a sunset. It is good that there is no score, but I can’t really promise that I won’t stand up.

Day Two- Crash Course in Web Design

So my tinkering in web design yesterday led to sharing a link on Facebook, and a few hundred views of my digital scrawling. I don’t think I embarrassed myself too much. I must say that the web design software is more of a grammar nazi than any of my friends. So I want to spell playfield as one word- just humor me, please.

I added links today. That was special. I replaced my lame order form with a too-long ramble about price comparisons and guidance on costs for potential clients- but I think it’s an improvement.

So my audience is no longer zero- but it is certainly not captive.

If only I didn’t have a day job, I could make a serious go at this….

Soon….

Starting up…

So this is the start of the voyage. Can a man’s skills and passions blend together to make art that is fun, intriguing, thought-provoking, unique as well as desirable? I’m betting it can. So today I post for the first time as an entrepreneur – king of my hobby-business – writing to an audience of zero.

Things are looking up.
